Paramount Pictures has denied it’s interest in Spain or Murcia for the building of a new theme park.

In true Spanish fashion, this story is just getting going. In press releases over the last few weeks the Murcia government have spoke of meetings and made promises and statements that now, one has to wonder where in fact they came from. According to Paramount..not from them, in fact in a press release today in Los Angeles a spokesman for Paramount gave the following statement,

“No theme park in Murcia, I do not know if they lie, but there is no commitment, nor is there any written or verbal agreement, he also said he was unaware if the meeting in Dubai was even with Paramount executives and further more knew nothing of any feasibility study.

Just a few days ago, Pedro Alberto Cruz claimed that the project to build a theme park and a film studio in Murcia by Paramount Pictures “are not promises in the air, but have a pretty solid foundation.”

I am sure over the coming days or hours Ramon Luis Valcarcel, and the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, will have a whole lot of questions to answer and a lot explaining to do to the people of Murcia about what really happened at the meeting held in Dubai last February and who really wrote the letter Ramon Luis Valcarcel presented as interest from Paramount, the article that started this whole rather exciting and now entertaining episode.

I am not sure this is the end of the saga and look forward to the explanations that are sure to follow.

The weather has been trying so hard to be nice today, still it has not been bad for a game of golf. The Jack Nicklaus Signature course has been busy and there has been plenty of activity around the resort.

March 19th is a National holiday in Spain, its Fathers day which is shared with St Josephs day. This holiday sits just weeks before Santa Semana or as we know it Easter. All day on Condado De Alhama Spanish owners have been arriving by the dozens for a little golf, a little relaxation and a little father pampering.

The weather in Murcia today has been a very pleasant 20 Celsius but overcast. Hopefully tomorrow will bring the sun and the BBQ season will begin.

Easter holidays are almost upon us, a favorite holiday for kids of all ages, right after Christmas that is.

If you are arriving on Sunday Evening as many people are, you will be pleased to know that the supermarket at Condado De Alhama will be open for normal business on Monday.

I always get nervous when we print something like this, although we did make a trip to the supermarket to get the opening schedule for the holidays, this is Spain, it also has the added benefit of being Polaris World, where anything can happen..so, the supermarket is open on Monday and if for some reason it is not, remember.. smile you’re in Spain.
