Polaris World announce this weeks entertainment at the Clover, the fun starts at 10.30 on Friday. Beefeater fiesta, a little bit of London. Ryanair, frustrated in the way the Murcia government allocated tourism funds slashes 7 of it’s 9 flights into Murcia San Javier.  The low cost airline, that everyone loves to hate, (love the prices, but hate to admit it) made this decision after a tourism grant of 3 million Euros was granted to the small Spanish regional airline Air Nostrum. In Spain the government is accused of favoring Spanish companies when it comes to grants and funds from tax payer money. Funny that, if only other countries followed suit I don’t think the citizens would complain too much.

Ryanair carries 49% of the British tourists arriving in the region, although this may not be good for Murcia, the government is not showing concern. Alicante Airport being of almost equal distance to Condado De Alhama I don’t think we will show much concern either. So, with Ryaniar being… Ryaniar they have signed a new deal with Alicante Airport so…does this mean they will also boycott the new International Corvera Airport due to open next year in Murcia? This we will have to wait and see but I suspect, EasyJet and other similar competitors will be more than happy to pick up their lack of interest where they left off.

Condado de Alhama’s Polaris World Supermarket stocks up for the next wave of holiday makers. The market which is located in the town center of  Al Kasar has been busy the last couple of weeks. More staff on hand and truck loads of food items to keep it running smoothly, the Polaris World Supermarket is a very busy place this time of year. The fresh made bread is a fast seller and seems to be baked all day long on site. English magazines and newspapers on stock along with all the postcards and books one may need to round out the holiday. Tonight is Party Night at the Clover bar, Condado De Alhama. Ibiza theme party starting at 10PM with DJ’s, GOGO Dancers and a Saxaphonist. The fun kicks off at 10PM and will no doubt go on late into the night. There will be prizes for the most original Ibiza dress, so come on guys…put on your fancy dress and come on out.

The Polaris World resort is the busiest we have ever seen it, so I am sure you will need to arrive early if you want one of the ever so popular sofas in the square. We will be there looking for our own best dressed and soaking up the summer fun.

The golf association at Condado De Alhama meets every Wednesday night at The Clover from 7PM to 8PM and play on Fridays. Everyone is welcome to join in. This weeks winner was Martin from Naranjos 7.

Polaris Telecom have some new service offers for the summer of 2010. With faster speeds available and lower rates a lot of owners and guests might find themselves wanting to get the all important life line installed in their apartments. Internet is something that most people expect when they come away on holiday and of course it is available on the public computers in the supermarket area, although no WIFI area is up and working yet on the resort.

Polaris now have several options for internet in your apartments starting at the basic monthly service of 15 Euros which includes a year contract with a 1MB connection speed, perfectly adequate to check e mails, play on facebook and chat using Skype. If you prefer not to have a contract you can now connect your apartment to the internet as and when you need it for only 32 Euros 3MB unlimited a month on the pay as you go program.

It is good to see this development from Polaris Telecom, I think with this offer we may see a few frustrating dongles floating in the pools. Be aware of anyone offering a one time connection fee and free internet, such a service legally, does not exist in Murcia.

So, the Spanish have a tradition of running the bulls through town and everyone can play tag with them on the way to the Bull fighting arena, ok. Sounds like a great adrenaline rush. But some times it can go sideways on you. Then I guess thats when you stop doing this practice and become a spectator.

Today will be warm in Spain and that is why we all love this part of Europe. 39 Provinces are on high heat alert in Spain Thursday. The Province of Jaen is expected to reach 44C which puts it in Red Alert. 18 Provinces are listed today to be on the Orange Alert which include  Malaga, Granada, Zaragoza, Toledo and the southern areas of Madrid. 35 are expected to be in the Yellow Alert. Some of those 35 listed are Almeria, Cordoba, Seville, Murcia, Alicante, Valencia,Valladolid, Zamora and Catalonia.
