Wednesday Nights on Condado are all about meeting people and signing up for the golf associations Friday competitions.

The meet starts at 7pm it is a night to sit and enjoy the Clover bar atmosphere at Al Kasar with friends new and old.

A new full time resident was there to show us the newest and youngest member of the Condado family having recently moved into Jardin 1. What a wonderful place to bring up a baby.

We hope that you join Barry, Graham and of course us at the Clover throughout the year, the evening has been a great success throughout the summer and will continue for as long as… you keep coming.

Condado de Alhama Restaurant Closes September 6

The Condado de Alhama Golf Resort located outside of Alhama de Murcia has posted on it’s window that Polaris World has decided to close the restaurant on September 6. The restaurant located inside the Al Kasar, stayed busy all season long, even turning away business because they were so busy. The decision to close was not stated on the flyer taped to the window, nor when it would reopen. With a majority of owners and holiday rentals coming to this Golf Resort from through out Europe, it leaves them with no other option for dining out on site. With tens of thousands to spend each month they have to go off site to spend it. Well, the good news is that other restaurants will be more than happy to take up the business left by the closing of this fine restaurant.

Polaris World joins Clover and Limonero Restaurant

The Al Kasar located on Polaris World’s Condado de Alhama Golf Resort, which contains the Clover and Limonero has been joined by a new passage way. A new door is being fitted to join forces.

Whether Polaris World installed this entrance because of the winter months that are coming, which will make the travel between both establishments much easier on the public. We are glad that this has been done, as it may possibly give food service to the bar patrons as well.

Expanding service

This summer has been very busy so any improvements are welcomed. No sign of a coffee shop yet, but maybe next summer they can open one in one of the entrances to the supermarket for the early birds. They do have a bakery and fresh fruit to serve up. Just a thought. The restaurant does open at 11 and serves coffee and tapas.

Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course on Condado de Alhama

After last weeks severe rain storm which closed the course for a few days, the Jack Nicklaus Signature designed Golf Course is being played on. OlaGolf has had workers out clearing the over flow of soil and will soon be onto the bunkers. Over on Hole 2 we have some photo’s of the damage the runoff did to the adjoining road.

With the force of water that this storm created the Golf Course survived rather well.

The bunkers did have damage as the water ran into them in such a short period of time it did not have enough time to drain away. So the race is on to reshape these bunkers as soon as possible.

Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course Open again following storms

The Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Condado De Alhama, re-opened today to players. The course was closed due to strong storms during this week causing damage and washout. Olagolf are happy enough with the course to open it today at 13.00hrs. A relief to golfer on the resort. The bunkers still require work but this will continue with the course open.

A further development, Jardin 2 pool that was also closed due to storm damage has now been cleaned and is open.

The roads on the resort are now clean for the most part, a credit to the administration, Olagolf and the contractors that keep this resort in great condition.

Another heavy storm hits Condado De Agua this morning.

Jardin 2

The Murcia region of Spain woke this morning to yet another heavy storm dumping more water onto already saturated grounds. The good news is it appears to be over, Murcia has been on Orange Alert for flash floods today but even they expired at 19.00hrs. Some small villages in the area and crop fields saw some heavy damage as did the beaches at Bolnuevo and Mazarron, but I am sure as we speak the city is repairing them so that they, like us can get on with our summer holidays. Here on Condado, we also have a little cleaning up to do. Some of our streets are caked with mud from the overflow of banks, Jardin 2 swimming pool is temporarily closed, and the golf course is closed from now until the 23rd of August for repairs.

Mileniun Levante, our administrator at Condado is working hard assisting everyone that has sustained water damage to their apartments and also working with contractors to clean streets and pools. Hopefully the freak weather of August is over now, the temperature made it up to 40 degrees today following a morning at 20 degrees so things are certainly on the up.

We have uploaded many pictures in the photo gallery of the storm damages and clean up efforts, hopefully these will ease the mind of all owners of Condado, click on the pictures above, take a look and rest easy. Tomorrows another sunny day in Spain…

Flamenco at the Clover on Condado de Alhama’s Golf Resort

The Flamenco performance last night, brought in the crowds at Polaris Worlds Clover Bar. The Parking lot was over 1/2 full and the families were still walking from the neighboring gardens to come watch and enjoy the evening atmosphere. The weekends have proven busy at the Clover all summer long. Great entertainment and a meeting place to catch up with and make new friends. Polaris Worlds Clover bar opens at 3 in the afternoon and closes.. well some say at 6 in the morning, so it is keeping the crowds entertained thats for sure.

With several weeks left in the summer, there is still time to jet over and get into the holiday spirit, before the Golfing season starts.

New Restaurant Hours at Condado De Alhama

The restaurants Limonero and Acacia located at Condado De Alhama are now open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner in the Al Kasar center. It is very hard to get a table outside so booking in advance is advisable if you prefer outside seating. You can usually get a table inside without a reservation.

Limonero is a restaurant specialising in rice dishes cooked on an open vine shoot fire. Perfect relaxing setting to enjoy a delicious traditional paella.

Trattoria ACACIA restaurant offers the best Italian cuisine. Pasta, pizza and risotto as well as less well known but equally delicious dishes.

They are offering specials everyday and we can highly recommend the melon and blue cheese salad on special this week.

Both restaurants open every day for lunch or drinks at 11am-4.30pm and for dinner 8pm-11.30pm.

The Clover tavern opens at 3PM till 3AM.

Condado de Alhama gets a Trim

Over on the Jardin side of the Polaris World built Condado de Alhama Golf Resort, the gardeners are busy this morning trimming up the tree lined inner ring road.With temperature rising it is not slowing down what needs to be done.

As you can see from the picture below, these trees will give great comfort and shelter on the foot paths around the inner ring road not to mention for those fortunate enough to have a lower unit. These trees flower in yellow or blue, so the contrast off the white of the buildings is very pleasing to the eye.

Alhama Signature Golf Tournament Results

Some of the Winners of Alhama Golf Residents Tournament

Today Olagolf hosted it’s first residents tournament at Condado De Alhama, 12 players took part in the event playing for Tee time on the fantastic Jack Nicklaus Signature designed course.

1st Place went to Cesar Garcia Calvo with 37

2nd Place went to James Hershaw with 36

3rd Place went to Patric Meulders with 36

4th place went to Jan Henrick Bobel with 34

Overall a successful mini tournament, it was nice to have a tournament hosted, something that was appreciated by the owners, a chance to play and compete. I think had the prizes been something other than Tee time they would have attracted a lot more of the association players. Barry Barker explained that he and other residents did not take part as he and many of the other owners are members of Alhama Golf and therefor pay a yearly subscription to play, so Tee time to him was not an attractive prize, especially when they would have had to pay to play today.

Maybe, Olagolf could take that into consideration and offer a Ferrari next time..Please.
