The Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Condado De Alhama, re-opened today to players. The course was closed due to strong storms during this week causing damage and washout. Olagolf are happy enough with the course to open it today at 13.00hrs. A relief to golfer on the resort. The bunkers still require work but this will continue with the course open.

A further development, Jardin 2 pool that was also closed due to storm damage has now been cleaned and is open.

The roads on the resort are now clean for the most part, a credit to the administration, Olagolf and the contractors that keep this resort in great condition.

The Murcia region of Spain woke this morning to yet another heavy storm dumping more water onto already saturated grounds. The good news is it appears to be over, Murcia has been on Orange Alert for flash floods today but even they expired at 19.00hrs. Some small villages in the area and crop fields saw some heavy damage as did the beaches at Bolnuevo and Mazarron, but I am sure as we speak the city is repairing them so that they, like us can get on with our summer holidays. Here on Condado, we also have a little cleaning up to do. Some of our streets are caked with mud from the overflow of banks, Jardin 2 swimming pool is temporarily closed, and the golf course is closed from now until the 23rd of August for repairs.

Mileniun Levante, our administrator at Condado is working hard assisting everyone that has sustained water damage to their apartments and also working with contractors to clean streets and pools. Hopefully the freak weather of August is over now, the temperature made it up to 40 degrees today following a morning at 20 degrees so things are certainly on the up.

The Mucia region has been struggling this month with the heavy rain storms crossing the area, something that is typically reserved for a little later in the year. The heavy rains continue to pound Condado De Alhama this morning following a few days of very unsettled weather. It is expected that this particular rain storm will continue throughout the day, keeping temperatures unusually low only reaching only the mid 20′s for the rest of the day, things look to improve tomorrow but the unsettled weather will continue for a few more days to come.

If you are driving around the area in the next few days you should avoid low lying side roads and mountain tracks like those to the coves as it will take the authorities several days to repair these tracks following a rain like this.

Every year unexpected tourists are known to get stuck when their favorite beach or cove road suddenly becomes impassable. If you are driving from the airport today, stick to the motorways and avoid your favorite short cuts and you will be fine.

August is typically a month that is so hot the Spanish people take it off.. there are unusual weather patterns all over the world and Murcia is no exception.

The Flamenco performance last night, brought in the crowds at Polaris Worlds Clover Bar. The Parking lot was over 1/2 full and the families were still walking from the neighboring gardens to come watch and enjoy the evening atmosphere. The weekends have proven busy at the Clover all summer long. Great entertainment and a  meeting place to catch up with and make new friends. Polaris Worlds Clover bar opens at 3 in the afternoon and closes.. well some say at 6 in the morning, so it is keeping the crowds entertained thats for sure.

With several weeks left in the summer, there is still time to jet over and get into the holiday spirit, before the Golfing season starts.

The fiesta started this morning with a cycle around the resort before heading to the football pitches for a Fiesta day football tournament. The football teams were made up of neighbors, friends and family and the organizers put the teams into age groups Senior…18 years and over, Juniors 14-17 years and Infants up to 13 years.

The elimination rounds will play and the finals are expected to be around 1.30PM. Lots of footballs being given as prizes at the event to lots of very excited players. A great turn out and start to Fiesta 2010 at Condado De Alhama, hosted by Neighbours of Condado.

Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th brings bad luck to the sun worshipers at Condado De Alhama. With yesterdays temperatures at 41 degrees it was a shock to wake up to the black clouds that hung over the resort today. Tonight nature is putting on a show of thunder and lightning with the rain threatening to stay around to till the morning. Fiesta plans for tomorrow will have a wet a start but this is Spain so it will be back to brilliant sunshine by afternoon. The temperature right now has dipped to 19 degrees so the storm will be one worth watching.

The security at Condado De Alhama golf resort has changed as the resort has grown and to some accounts is causing confusion amongst owners and guests alike. So what is the new security procedure for owners and guests arriving at Condado?

Everyone arriving at the resort will be asked to present their passport, contractors guests and owners alike, unless you have your owners pass, a green card you can order from security by e mail. These are being distributed Spanish slow but one day all owners should have the fast pass card.

If you have guests or contractors arriving at Condado De Alhama avoid the embarrassment and upset of your dearly beloved being turned away by e mailing security to request access providing the arrival day the name of your visitor and the purpose of your guests visit.

Condado De Alhama is a very secure resort, to everyone that wanted high security I think we can say we have achieved that, guards walk the resort several times during the night making sure you can rest easy and are not swimming in the pool after hours. A little zealous at times but following the rules to a T. Thats what we wanted and thats what we got. Enjoy your stay at Condado this summer.

FLAMENCO NIGHT WITH POLARIS WORLD AT THE CLOVER 10PM

August 14th will be a fun packed day at Condado De Alhama starting early in the morning the Condado Fiesta 2010 kicks off at 9.30Am with a track around Condado, skate, bicycle jog or walk round Condado De Alhama. 10.30AM it’s off to the football pitches for Football 7, click on the picture below for all the activities. Fun, games and a great opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors. The evening at the Clover will be a night of Flamenco starting at 10PM….ish if this night is anything like the other nights put on this summer by Polaris World at Condado De Alhama, be sure to be there it is bound to be a lot of fun.

And if that is not enough, the Condado Golf Association are having their Captains Day Presentations starting at 8PM in NARANJOS 4 there will be a Hog Roast available for 8 Euros per person, but a hog is only so big so you will need to reserve your bit of pig by e mailing Barry at barrybarker90@yahoo.co.uk

So a full day it is, a day of fun and games and an evening kicking off in Naranjos 4 with the captains day presentation, then off to the Clover for Flamenco at 10PM..ish till the early hours of the morning. I bet the resort will be peaceful come Sunday morning.

Damage to a fire hydrant at the resort leaves Naranjos without water for 24 hours. The fire hydrant was found running water having been hit, so around 10AM a Polaris World representative turned up, but instead of repairing the problem simply turned off the water to half the resort, leaving all the guests without the ability to prepare food, wash hands, shower or flush commodes, not to mention the tragedy that could have occurred should there have been a fire.

Suggestion, steer your car around the fire hydrants and reduce your speed.

The repair was made this morning by 8.30AM to the fire hydrant and water restored much to the relief of everyone running buckets of water from the swimming pools.

The flower power hippy night was a big success. If you missed it, you missed a great night. The party started at 10..ish, actually it was 11.30pm before the entertainment began but when it did everyone attending was very entertained. Spirits were high and flowing freely, the bar service was good and with three bars open it was much faster getting a drink.

A female singer, a DJ, and dancers whipped the crowds up quickly and kept them partying well into the early hours of the morning. A few fancy dress items were also being passed around for a bit of fun.
