Happy Days. Today was another good day for Condado as another business makes Condado De Alhama, Al Kasar its home.
A French Bistro and bakery signed contracts today with IRM to begin building work to open in the very near future. Bringing something completely different to Al Kasar. The French theme and cuisine will truly add the all European feel to Al Kasar. We now represent Spain, Bulgaria, English and now French cuisine. I am sure the bakery will also prepare some delicious fresh bread and croissants making the mornings in Al Kasar just a little bit sweeter.
It is so important that we, owners and residents come out of our apartments and down to our town to support all the bars and restaurants that are now open all year long to serve you.
With this in mind, Carol Miller from Condado Gift & Golf shop has organized a Condado Crawl Club, with the slogan Fridays are for Crawling, the club will meet Friday nights, weekly at La Cata at 8.30pm and will bar crawl around Al Kasar.
What a great opportunity to meet old friends and to make new ones, and at the same time support all our bars and restaurants. The first crawl is this Friday (tomorrow) meeting at La Cata at 8.30PM. If you are on Condado please join in and be a part of this effort. The crawl participants should wear RED tomorrow so that the group will be seen by all that want to join. A red hat, T-shirt, dress anything red.
It is always a pleasure of mine to see Condado De Alhama residents doing well…in what ever they do. The short film you are about to watch features a young man from Naranjos 4, Edward Miller, playing the older brother in a movie set to go into primary schools in England to warn youngsters against gang life…Edward works alot with the children of Condado during the season, helping with football camps and other children activities. Good luck Edward in this venture, and know that Condado De Alhama is behind you…all the way.
Event sponsored by Neil and Lynn Simpson, (Back row left) landlords of The Clover
Condado De Alhama Golf society and volunteers have come together to raise money for the Seve foundation. Many events have been organized and this is one I think, most of you can join in and have some fun. April 30th come along to the Clover and take part in the Darts and Pool competition…you don´t have to be champion, just pay 1 euro and play to raise money.
If you can´t make April 30th, you may be able to take part in The Killer Darts and Pool competition taking place on May 7th, just one day after the big gala day event at The Condado Club.
There is no need to book to play, just come on down and put your name behind the bar to join in. All proceeds go to the Seve Foundation, this event is sponsored by Neil and Lynn Simpson, landlords of our favourite Condado Pub, The Clover.
Friday Night at the Clover is going to be another good night on Condado De Alhama. Appearing live this week is singer guitarist Robbie James. Robbie will perform a wide range of music to suit and entertain everyone. We have all had some great nights in the Clover this year already. Lets make Friday another one. If you can´t make it, maybe we will stream live a little to let you grab a gin and tonic and pretend…you are here. The fun starts at 9.30pm sharp.
For one night only at THE CONDADO CLUB we will have Barbara Almond, a international physic medium and spiritual healer Barbara Almond.
Barbara has had the gift of spiritual awareness and clairvoyance since childhood. The gift being handed down to her from her grandmother. Barbara has years of experience and has appeared on channel 4 television as well as radio programs both in England and here in Spain.
Barbara will give a demonstration of clairvoyance on 24th April at the Condado Club. Tickets are 5 Euros Each and the doors to the function room close at 7.45pm.

The Murcia region of Spain has been listed in a global index of the world’s best property markets to invest in.
The list was recently compiled for the International Living magazine where Murcia made the top 27 property investment destinations in the world… that is an astounding achievement for the region, and will almost certainly bring a wider range of investors knocking on Murcia´s door.
The index looks at several factors, including the potential for capital appreciation, rental income potential and rental demand.
The plan to build Europe’s first Paramount Theme and Lifestyle Centre in the region has certainly put Murcia in the international spotlight but it is what is here already that wins the hearts of the tourists and investors that visit. Beautiful beaches and coves, vineyards for miles, orange trees as far as the eye can see and the the culture of the Spanish people.
Condado De Alhama sits beautifully central to the beaches of Mazarron port, the national park in the sierra Espuña and the city of Murcia. Property prices are still incredibly low and banks are offering to fund your purchase on select prime Condado De Alhama property with 110% of the purchase price, meaning you put no money down at all… the banks will even finance the local taxes. Your property, as an added bonus will come to you fully furnished and ready to rent or move into. You can choose a 2 or 3 bedroom floorplan either in a community garden or overlooking the resorts fantastic Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
Condado De Alhama sits only 4KM from the Paramount Theme Park and Lifestyle centre. Building is set to start soon with the foundation stone ceremony taking place in Alhama in an official ceremony on May 31st.
Contact me and find out how you can reserve your new apartment now, fully furnished from 72.000 Euros! jill@condadodealhamaservices.com

The bushes and plants in the Naranjos jardins are now being planted. It will make a big difference to the overall appearance of the gardens as we head into the summer. The irrigation water is still not a part of the daily schedule but I am sure with the plantings of these new plants and bushes that the irrigation will also be turned on soon to take care of these new plants. You can feel summer in the air now and if you plan to visit soon you will find that the swimming pools are not only looking nice but are apparently warm…ish. Guests, adults and children get in the pools now and don’t get out within 30 seconds. Another beautiful day in Murcia a good day to lay by the pool, enjoy your sun terrace or head out for a game of golf. What ever you do today, have a good day.
Condado De Alhama excursion to the Los Mayos fiesta in Alhama De Murcia could be described as nothing less than brilliant.
The fiesta de Los Mayos is related to the fertility of the land and it coincides with the time of harvesting of crops. There are a series of ancient rites and ceremonies dating back to the Greeks and Romans who celebrated the arrival of spring. This ancient tradition is still alive today, with great strength, in many parts of the Mediterranean including our local town of Alhama De Murcia. Los Mayos is now a regional tourist attraction and enjoyed by many.
Apart from the party, la fiesta, you will find puppets dressed in everyday clothes and placed in everyday situations around the town. These often make light of the local news and remember past traditions and missing trades.
Remembering the Water Carrier
Outside scene created to remember typical Spanish life back in the day..
It wasn’t long before we felt the atmosphere and sheer excitement of the fiesta. The WHOLE town takes part in this event and everyone from Alhama came out to celebrate in Jester costumes that were being sold for pennies in the market on Tuesday. On my shopping list for next year.
Fiesta costume
To see the whole town dressed as jesters, laughing, drinking and dancing as they followed a tractor pulling around town, a full stage with lighting and live musicians was just brilliant. Children ran and played, young and old alike enjoyed themselves without the fear of violence or danger.
Mileniun Levante organized this trip for us where we were able to do a fair bit of drinking and eating ourselves visiting the local tapa bars. Next year I will go again, but next time as a Jester.
Coach home. Thanks to Mileniun for organizing this trip.
The Arroceria and Limonero restaurants are now open on Condado De Alhama for the holiday season. The restaurants both located in one building offer a great variety of Paella, Pizza, Steaks and fish dishes all cooked on an open fire. The Clover bar has now stopped serving food. Hopefully the restaurant will remain open now for the summer season.
Entertainment on the resort Fridays and Saturday nights. If you haven’t had a chance to catch the live band on Fridays put it in your book as something you must do, they really are a great Spanish band playing 70′s to current day soft rock. It has been very busy for the Easter holidays and although the weather was far from perfect it appears all the owners and guests had a great time as usual.
