January 1st saw a new management company take over not only Alhama Signature Golf Course but all the Nicklaus Golf Trail courses in Murcia. All 6 golf courses formally owned by Polaris World now back together to form one of the best golfing experiences in Spain.

Another beautiful Golfing day in Murcia

In Murcia, on a warm winter Sunday afternoon there is nothing better to do than to visit the Puerto De Mazarron to soak up the atmosphere of the coastal Spanish village. With it’s wide open sandy beaches, ample of shopping and restaurants and a boardwalk stretching for miles it is a little bit of heaven. A day to visit the local market, walk the dog and let the children play on the beach. Today, January 9th 2011 the puerto, (port) is under restoration. From now until March 13th the restaurants on the boardwalk are closed as the city pour in over 2 million euros in a face lift of the sea front. You can still access the beach and the corner restaurant remains open to serve visitors. Many were taking advantage of the beautiful sailing weather and taking out their boats, fishing, biking and walking, we even saw some people taking a dip in the warm..ish Mediterranean Sea.

Murcia is a good place to visit all year round with it’s mild winters, distinct lack of rain and very hot summers. Ryanair are doing very cheap flights to Murcia this time of year, so if the cold weather is getting you down, take a weekend break away from it all and join us in Spain. Está todo bien.

FLAMENCO NIGHT WITH POLARIS WORLD AT THE CLOVER 10PM

August 14th will be a fun packed day at Condado De Alhama starting early in the morning the Condado Fiesta 2010 kicks off at 9.30Am with a track around Condado, skate, bicycle jog or walk round Condado De Alhama. 10.30AM it’s off to the football pitches for Football 7, click on the picture below for all the activities. Fun, games and a great opportunity to meet new friends and neighbors. The evening at the Clover will be a night of Flamenco starting at 10PM….ish if this night is anything like the other nights put on this summer by Polaris World at Condado De Alhama, be sure to be there it is bound to be a lot of fun.

And if that is not enough, the Condado Golf Association are having their Captains Day Presentations starting at 8PM in NARANJOS 4 there will be a Hog Roast available for 8 Euros per person, but a hog is only so big so you will need to reserve your bit of pig by e mailing Barry at barrybarker90@yahoo.co.uk

So a full day it is, a day of fun and games and an evening kicking off in Naranjos 4 with the captains day presentation, then off to the Clover for Flamenco at 10PM..ish till the early hours of the morning. I bet the resort will be peaceful come Sunday morning.

Tonight at 7PM is the time to make your way down to the Clover bar and join in on our golf meet night.

This night has been growing in popularity, last Wednesday we had 30 players sign up to play on Friday and several non golfers turn up just to meet friends and neighbors for a social evening.

The Hi 5 Tournament is returning to Condado De Alhama Jack Nicklaus Signature course on March 9th-11th.

The director of the tour Nigel German pictured below explains that although the weather has been wetter than normal for the Murcia region, this is not a problem for the players. He explained that in their home countries, in some cases the weather is -22. The weather for Murcia is forecast to be Sunny for the three days of this tournament.

Condado De Alhama Jack Nicklaus Signature course is less than 3 months old and has already hosted this pro tournament twice. If you are visiting Condado next week, enjoy watching the pros on this fabulous golf course.
