If you are at Condado De Alhama and happen to pass the office of Mileniun Levante, the company responsible for the successful running of the resort, you will notice a list in the front window. This list comprises of all owners that have not paid their cuota/administration fees, this is common practice in Spain to publish non payers publicly, this is the first step in what appears to be a pretty quick collection procedure.

In Spain all owners in urbanizations must pay a cuota/fee, to maintain the area/resort in the condition expected by all owners and guests and as set out in the by laws of the community known as the statutes. It is the responsibility of the owner of a property to pay and make effort to pay their administration fees. It is not as some would voice and believe the responsibility of the administrator to chase and capture all owners.

Spanish Law as it reads;

Obligation Of Owner To Pay Fees

If you are part of a legal Community, you are obliged to pay the fees.

Right Of Community To Collect The Fees

The Community is granted the right by the law to collect them.

Seizure Of Property For Non-Payment Of Fees

The courts may now in an abbreviated procedure place an “embargo” (a seizure) on the inscription of a property for unpaid Community fees, and later even place it for sale at public auction.

The law also protects it residents against anti social behavior of neighbors. An owner that needs an ASBO.. will get one in Spain. I read an article recently in which a man reported as playing his music too loud night after night, refusing all requests to lower it, ignoring police requests and making an antisocial nuisance of himself was eventually banned from visiting his own apartment for three years by the courts in Spain. The ultimate punishment for being a noisy neighbor.

Polaris World announce this weeks entertainment at the Clover, the fun starts at 10.30 on Friday. Beefeater fiesta, a little bit of London. Hopefully the event will prove as entertaining as last weekend and the turn out will match that of the Ibiza party. Not much information on the poster and in true Polaris fashion the exact details are a secret. Any excuse to drink Gin and Tonic, a favorite of ours on a hot night. See you at the Al Kasar.

The Ibiza Party hosted by Polaris World was a HUGE success last night at Condado De Alhama. Crowds in their hundreds made their way down to Al Kasar for this event which kicked off at 10PM ish..  with a DJ that was set up outside next to the water feature at Al Kasar, White balloons decorated the water, Olive Trees were placed around the water and the Clover was draped in white silk, all this emphasizing the Ibiza theme for the night. The crowds that attended were also entertained by an excellent Saxophonist and GOGO dancers.

There was a cocktail bar set up outside that made wonderful cocktails for you once you made a trip to the bar and achieved a ticket. The bar was well staffed but was struggling with the demand and the turn out for the event.

The Party went all the way through till 6AM this morning when finally the last of the party goers made their way home to their apartments.

Overall, a brilliant night of free entertainment at Condado De Alhama, thumbs up all round!

Oh What A Night!

Ryanair, frustrated in the way the Murcia government allocated tourism funds slashes 7 of it’s 9 flights into Murcia San Javier.  The low cost airline, that everyone loves to hate, (love the prices, but hate to admit it) made this decision after a tourism grant of 3 million Euros was granted to the small Spanish regional airline Air Nostrum. In Spain the government is accused of favoring Spanish companies when it comes to grants and funds from tax payer money. Funny that, if only other countries followed suit I don’t think the citizens would complain too much.

Ryanair carries 49% of the British tourists arriving in the region, although this may not be good for Murcia, the government is not showing concern. Alicante Airport being of almost equal distance to Condado De Alhama I don’t think we will show much concern either. So, with Ryaniar being… Ryaniar they have signed a new deal with Alicante Airport so…does this mean they will also boycott the new International Corvera Airport due to open next year in Murcia? This we will have to wait and see but I suspect, EasyJet and other similar competitors will be more than happy to pick up their lack of interest where they left off.

Al Kasar has been blessed with a new addition of Olive trees. They were being positioned around the huge reflection pond this afternoon. Placed on the corners and  in between for a total of what looks like 20 potted Olive trees. This should add another feature for night pictures taken around the inside of Al Kasar. Tonight the Clover is having a party and the addition of this mini grove of trees will give us a great backdrop. Great move Polaris World.

Condado de Alhama’s Polaris World Supermarket stocks up for the next wave of holiday makers. The market which is located in the town center of  Al Kasar has been busy the last couple of weeks. More staff on hand and truck loads of food items to keep it running smoothly, the Polaris World Supermarket is a very busy place this time of year. The fresh made bread is a fast seller and seems to be baked all day long on site. English magazines and newspapers on stock along with all the postcards and books one may need to round out the holiday. Internet service is also provided for use inside the supermarket, so you can check up on your email or facebook account while the shopping is being done. Oh yeah forgot to mention the parking. There is 200 plus spaces to park in front of the market, with about half a dozen handicap spaces right up front. So if your an owner or coming on holiday, its all good.

Tonight is Party Night at the Clover bar, Condado De Alhama. Ibiza theme party starting at 10PM with DJ’s, GOGO Dancers and a Saxaphonist. The fun kicks off at 10PM and will no doubt go on late into the night. There will be prizes for the most original Ibiza dress, so come on guys…put on your fancy dress and come on out.

The Polaris World resort is the busiest we have ever seen it, so I am sure you will need to arrive early if you want one of the ever so popular sofas in the square. We will be there looking for our own best dressed and soaking up the summer fun.

Any ideas on costumes? Ibiza… It’s all good.
