If you are at Condado De Alhama and happen to pass the office of Mileniun Levante, the company responsible for the successful running of the resort, you will notice a list in the front window. This list comprises of all owners that have not paid their cuota/administration fees, this is common practice in Spain to publish non payers publicly, this is the first step in what appears to be a pretty quick collection procedure.

In Spain all owners in urbanizations must pay a cuota/fee, to maintain the area/resort in the condition expected by all owners and guests and as set out in the by laws of the community known as the statutes. It is the responsibility of the owner of a property to pay and make effort to pay their administration fees. It is not as some would voice and believe the responsibility of the administrator to chase and capture all owners.

Spanish Law as it reads;

Obligation Of Owner To Pay Fees

If you are part of a legal Community, you are obliged to pay the fees.

Right Of Community To Collect The Fees

The Community is granted the right by the law to collect them.

Seizure Of Property For Non-Payment Of Fees

The courts may now in an abbreviated procedure place an “embargo” (a seizure) on the inscription of a property for unpaid Community fees, and later even place it for sale at public auction.

The law also protects it residents against anti social behavior of neighbors. An owner that needs an ASBO.. will get one in Spain. I read an article recently in which a man reported as playing his music too loud night after night, refusing all requests to lower it, ignoring police requests and making an antisocial nuisance of himself was eventually banned from visiting his own apartment for three years by the courts in Spain. The ultimate punishment for being a noisy neighbor.

The Ibiza Party hosted by Polaris World was a HUGE success last night at Condado De Alhama. Crowds in their hundreds made their way down to Al Kasar for this event which kicked off at 10PM ish..  with a DJ that was set up outside next to the water feature at Al Kasar, White balloons decorated the water, Olive Trees were placed around the water and the Clover was draped in white silk, all this emphasizing the Ibiza theme for the night. The crowds that attended were also entertained by an excellent Saxophonist and GOGO dancers.

There was a cocktail bar set up outside that made wonderful cocktails for you once you made a trip to the bar and achieved a ticket. The bar was well staffed but was struggling with the demand and the turn out for the event.

The Party went all the way through till 6AM this morning when finally the last of the party goers made their way home to their apartments.

Overall, a brilliant night of free entertainment at Condado De Alhama, thumbs up all round!

Oh What A Night!

Al Kasar has been blessed with a new addition of Olive trees. They were being positioned around the huge reflection pond this afternoon. Placed on the corners and  in between for a total of what looks like 20 potted Olive trees. This should add another feature for night pictures taken around the inside of Al Kasar. Tonight the Clover is having a party and the addition of this mini grove of trees will give us a great backdrop. Great move Polaris World.

Condado de Alhama’s Polaris World Supermarket stocks up for the next wave of holiday makers. The market which is located in the town center of  Al Kasar has been busy the last couple of weeks. More staff on hand and truck loads of food items to keep it running smoothly, the Polaris World Supermarket is a very busy place this time of year. The fresh made bread is a fast seller and seems to be baked all day long on site. English magazines and newspapers on stock along with all the postcards and books one may need to round out the holiday. Olagolf have posted new numbers and email addresses for reserving green fees on the Polaris World built Golf Resorts, Condado de Alhama and Mar Menor. For Condado de Alhama the number is 968 32 80 08 and for Mar Menor the number is 968 04 17 65. The email address is reservasgolfalhama@olagolf.es which appears to be for both golf courses.

The golf association at Condado De Alhama meets every Wednesday night at The Clover from 7PM to 8PM and play on Fridays. Everyone is welcome to join in. This weeks winner was Martin from Naranjos 7.

Polaris World has begun new rides to all ages in the Al Kasar. You will find these rides in front of the Clover Bar, which over looks the huge reflection pond in the center of the Al Kasar. Not open for operation at this point but hopefully soon, as all ages are eager to be the first to experience the excitement under the warm evening skies.

This will give the wee ones some entertainment for sure. Haven’t heard if they will be putting in a Condado EYE yet but the views would be fantastic! Should be able to look at the Mediterranean from up there.

It has been observed that Condado de Alhama is moving to save owners on their Community Costs. It appears that some of the lighting will be reduced to help curb costs and light pollution on Polaris Worlds Condado de Alhama Golf Resort, located in the Murcia Region of Spain. It is not known yet how much of a reduction will be made on lighting of the street and parking areas.

Polaris Telecom have some new service offers for the summer of 2010. With faster speeds available and lower rates a lot of owners and guests might find themselves wanting to get the all important life line installed in their apartments. Internet is something that most people expect when they come away on holiday and of course it is available on the public computers in the supermarket area, although no WIFI area is up and working yet on the resort.

Polaris now have several options for internet in your apartments starting at the basic monthly service of 15 Euros which includes a year contract with a 1MB connection speed, perfectly adequate to check e mails, play on facebook and chat using Skype. If you prefer not to have a contract you can now connect your apartment to the internet as and when you need it for only 32 Euros 3MB unlimited a month on the pay as you go program.

It is good to see this development from Polaris Telecom, I think with this offer we may see a few frustrating dongles floating in the pools. Be aware of anyone offering a one time connection fee and free internet, such a service legally, does not exist in Murcia.
