Hello From Sunny Spain..
Today has been the hottest day of 2012 on Condado De Alhama with temperatures reaching 42 degrees at 3pm and holding at 31 degrees as we go into the evening hours. These kinds of temperatures are usually reserved for July and August, so it is not surprising to hear that it is predicted to be a very hot summer.
It is a good time to remind you that running, riding a bike or doing any heart rate raising activity is not a good idea in these kinds of temperatures, unless you are submerged in very cold water….
Drink plenty of water and add a little sea salt to your diet. The Spanish locals enjoy a cold soup dish full of nutrients to help their bodies cope with the heat during the work day, you will find it on most restaurant menus, Gazpacho… chilled soup. It is actually surprisingly good…if you must drink alcohol in the heat, well chances are you are on holiday…try adding vodka to Gazpacho for a bloody Mary type drink that is refreshing and ….healthy.
Condado Fitness do a water aerobics class that you could find is just the ticket for your hot work out. There are plenty of parasols out at the Al Kasar and now you can even grab an ice cream on the way to the Clover.
If you love the sun and love it hot hot hot…Condado De Alhama in Murcia Spain is the place to be. The sun will be here, shining bright from now until December.
